Martin County Courthouse History

Martin County's Courthouse was built in 1907. Fully furnished, the entire construction process cost only $125,000. Since then, many renovations have been made, which have transformed the building into the one you see today. A Martin County Hornpipe

Did you know that Martin County has its own soundtrack? Warren Nelson wrote and performed a collection of songs about the people and places that have given Martin County its character. Originally released in 1976 as a vinyl record, and then in 2001 as a CD, this live audio recording of A Martin County Hornpipe celebrates his hometown of Fairmont, Minnesota and the native prairie. Cost is only $15 and they are available at: D&S Trophies in downtown Fairmont, “Hair Etc.” on North Park Street in Fairmont, or from any Sesquicentennial Committee Member.
