 Lifeguarding Course with WaterPark Module
for lifeguards at waterparks, multi-attraction facilities and
traditional pools.

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.

Age Requirement: Must be 15 years old by last day of class 
Prerequisites: Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating breath control & rhythmic breathing (front or side)
      Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or any combination of both.

Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 lb object, with both hands on the object swim back to the starting point and exit without using the ladder. Timed event: 1 min, 40 seconds.

Tread water for 2 minutes using the legs only.
