AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD TRAINING

Waterpark Lifeguarding Class
for lifeguards at waterparks, multi-attraction facilities and
traditional pools.

This course will teach you lifeguarding skills, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, professionalism, patron and facility surveillance, recommended rules for park safety, spinal injury management for waterpark attractions, as well as First Aid.

Age Requirement: Must be 15 years old by last day of class 
Prerequisites: Swim 300 yards continuously, using strokes in the following order
     « 100 yards of front crawl, using rhythmic breathing and a propellant kick. Rhythmic breathing can be performed either by breathing to the front or the side.
     « 100 yards of breaststroke, using the pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence..
     « 100 yards of either front crawl or breaststroke. This 100 yards may be a combination of the front crawl and breaststroke.


Starting in the water, swim 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 lb object, swim back to the starting point with the object and exit without using the ladder or stairs within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
