The Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the Accrediting Board of the U.S. Chamber's Board of Directors awarded its twentieth year of reaccredidation with Four Stars to the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce. This is an outstanding tribute to the Chamber and you, our Chamber members, as only twenty-two Chambers nationwide have earned this distinction.

To achieve Accreditation, Chambers perform an intensive self-assessment of their operation and programs in the areas governance, finance, human resources, government affairs, program development, communication, and facilities. The Accrediting Board, a panel of U.S. Chamber board members, votes on the final Accreditation.

Summarizing our accreditation the Board stated, "With a population of 11,000 and a membership of 297, we certainly did not expect to find a chamber as well manged and effective as a chamber ten times its size. This is one of the best chambers we have seen in a long time. We could all learn from them. They are well organized and there seems to be a grass roots mentality that is both effective and refreshing. Highly recommended!!!!"
