Cedar Creek Disc Golf Course An 18 hole disc golf course is available at Cedar Creek Park during park hours, free of charge. The course winds through tree studded lawns, thickly wooded lanes and up and down hills throughout the park. There are concrete tee pads and tee signs at each hole. Regulation 'Pole Hole' targets have been in place at the park since 1996 and usage grows with each summer season. For golf discs, instruction or a golfing buddy call Jon Riggs at 238-9331 (evenings). Discs also available for rent or sale through the Chamber of Commerce office at 206 North State Street or at For Old Times Sake at 95 Downtown Plaza. There are two tournaments planned for 2005--one on June 11 and one on August 13. The June tournament is a singles tournament. The August tourney is a doubles event. At both events we welcome novice through pro players, male or female. Registration starts at 9:15 for both tournaments and first discs are thrown at 10 am. Come and enjoy a beautiful walk in the woods interrupted by an occasional moment of joy or frustration. Watch for our booth at the Martin County fair this year.
