9:00 am - 9:00 pm History By the year 2001, sales reached $2,000,000.00 and by 2008, nearly $3,000,000.00. Profits generated by the Municipal Liquor Store stay soley within the City to fund various community projects. Over the years, the Liquor Store has funded the lake dredging program, lake restoration program and the Fairmont Aquatic Park. Most recently, $1.7 million dollars of store profits were used to renovate the old Central School Building creating the Southern Minnesota Educational Campus, or SMEC for short. As in the past, with increased business and demand for wider selection of products, the Fairmont Municipal Liquor Store outgrew its building. In 2009, the Fairmont City Council approved the land acquisition and building of a new store. On October 13, 2009, the Fairmont Liquor Store opened for buisness in it's new location: 1755 Center Creek Drive. Just off Hwy 15 North, 1/2 mile south of Interstate 90, the store is seeing many familiar faces as well as many out of town folks. Our store has a very nice wine and liquor selection and boasts the largest beer cooler in Southern Minnesota featuring local, micro and craft brewed beers as well as beers from around the world! Stop on in, you'll be glad you did! |
