Shelter Houses & Rentals

The City of Fairmont has 3 shelter houses you can reserve for $50.00 a day. Shelter locations are Lincoln Park, Sylvania Park and Cedar Creek Park. Each shelter is equipped with a sink, stove, refrigerator, 6 tables, 50 chairs and handicapp accessible rest rooms.Stop by or contact City Hall to reserve a shelter house for your next event.

The City also has a number of parks with open air shelters, that are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Weddings in the Parks

Any park within the City of Fairmont can be used for wedding ceremonies and celebrations. Many weddings take place each summer at Lincoln Park, as this location is known for its numerous flower beds, tranquil scenery overlooking the lake and beautiful arbors. Weddings typically take place by the white trellised arbor and benches are set up to the east in such a way as to provide an aisle.

The minimum charge for a wedding, in any of the City of Fairmont parks, is $150.00. This charge includes use of the shelter house (based on avability) and set up and tear down of seating for 100 people. There is an additional $1.00 charge for each person over the initial 100 count (i.e. 150 people = $200.00). $50.00 must be paid to confirm the reservation, with the balance due at least 2 months prior to the reservation date. There are no refunds issued in the event of rain.
