Adopt-a-Park Program

Overview
The City of Fairmont is responsible for approximately 560 acres of parks. Keeping these parks clean is a major task. In order to help with litter control and light maintenance, such as flower bed weeding and stick removal, the Fairmont City Council recently approved the Park Board's request for implementing the Adopt-a-Park program. This program is vital to our community and assists the Fairmont Park Department in maintaining clean parks and recreation areas for all to enjoy.

Groups who become involved adopt a specific park and perform spring and fall clean-up, with summer maintanence (twice a month). This intentions of this one-year commitment and action, on behalf of the adopting agency, will keep the adopting location beautiful, litter-free and safe for all residents and those visiting the community.

We hope the citizen's involvement in this community wide program will increase the current level of park appreciation and awareness and prohibit vandalism and other park related issues.
