Fairmont Public Utilities The Fairmont Public Utilities is a municipal utility established in 1902. The utility provides electricity, water, wastewater treatment and steam district heat to customers within the City of Fairmont and over 200 rural customers. The utility is governed by a five member commission appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
