Fairmont Area Youth Council Events & Activities

The majority of youth feel that there are not enough positive, safe activities geared for them. As part of our mission statement, the FAYC will provide social events and entertainment that are safe and fun for the youth community.

Some of the activities that we have hosted are listed below:

February 29, 2008 - Fairmont Knights of Columbus Facility
The Youth Council and KC's co-hosted a county-wide 7-12 grade youth dance. Pro Sound DJ, based out of Fairmont, provided mustic for the evening.
January 18, 2008 - Fairmont Knights of Columbus Facility
The Knights of Columbus and the Youth Council co-hosted a youth dance for all youth in grades 7-12 residing in Martin County. This event featured Stage 1 Sound DJ and free snacks to all youth in attendance.
January 19, 2007 - Fairmont Knights of Columbus Facility
The Youth Council and Knights of Columbus co-hosted another successful youth entertainment opportunity, with youth representation from all schools in Martin County. Stage 1 Sound provided live entertainment and free treats were available for all that attended!
March 10, 2006 - Fairmont Knights of Columbus Facility
The Youth Council and Knights of Columbus co-hosted a youth entertainment opportunity. Approximately 280 Martin county youth, in grades 7-12, attended. This has been our largest attended event!!!
Featured: a dance with a live DJ, the Fairmont High School Multicultural Dance Group opening the event by dancing for the youth (with Mary Conieras as their dance instructor), the Fairmont Jr. High Student council provided decorations and offered glow necklaces and bracelets for sale, and free snacks and treats were available for all youth that attended (pizza and pop/water for sale).
October 28, 2005 - Fairmont Opera House
Featured: a DJ, Games, Free Treats & Snacks, & Fun
August 27, 2004 - "Back to School Bash" at the Fairmont Armory
Featured: a DJ, Inflatable Toys, Food, & Fun
April 3, 2004 - Fairmont Opera House
Featured: a DJ, Movies, Food, Prizes, & Fun
