Fairmont Area Youth Council Agenda

December 15, 2004 @ 3:45 p.m.

 

1. Call to Order

- Regular meeting of the Fairmont Area Youth Council held on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at City Hall at 3:45 p.m. in the Fairmont City Hall Council Chambers.

 

2. Presentation by Dave Smith

- Fruitcake Follie & FAYC involvement

            - Information for a FAYC article in the Sentinel Weekend edition will be discussed

 

3. Roll Call of Members Present – Kimbra please call the last names and have the members say “here”

4. Reading of the Minutes (yellow) – Kimbra

            - Motion to pass the minutes from the December 6, 2004 meeting

 

5. Old Business

                - Betsy – Parliamentary procedures

 

6. New Business

- Service Projects – Kendra & Tom

                - Would the council like to do one last service project for 2004?

                - Make a motion to have the council approve the service project calendar for 2005           

- Membership/Community Awareness – Kimbra, Tyler & Council

                - Council view attached applications and vote on interested members.

- Funding/Youth Activity – Betsy & FAYC members

- The council sent out letters to area businesses stating we would contact them after the 1st of the year regarding their donation to the council. When would we like to contact them?

- Youth activity – we need to get started on planning a youth activity – when it will be, what will it be, etc. in order to apply for a grant in January

- Make your Own Pizza Fundraiser – Betsy

                * Each council member must sell at least 30 pizzas.

- Bullying

                - How would the council like to address this issue?

                - When will the council address this issue?

                - Make a motion to brainstorm ideas or make a motion for all council members to obtain additional information on this topic and report their findings at the next meeting.

           

7. Other Business

                - Has everyone turned in their tallied surveys to Betsy?

                - Let’s tentatively schedule the rest of our meetings for January - May
