1. Call to Order

- Regular meeting of the Fairmont Area Youth Council held on Monday, May 1, 2006 at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. in Fairmont City Hall

If at least 6 members are present, state “we have a quorum for tonight’s meeting”.

- FAYC Information (picture of council if all members are present)

- May Baskets

                Will be distributed to local Police Depts in Sherburn, Welcome, & Fairmont

                The council will assemble these after the meeting

                A representative from the youth council will need to drop off the baskets

                                Who can drop off the basket in Sherburn?

5. New Business

                - City Wide Clean Up Event

                                - How can the youth council assist with this project?

                - Planning & Budgeting Process for next term

                                - Brainstorm ideas on projects we can do

                                                - What are some projects you are interested in?

                                                                - See attached pages for ideas that other community groups have been involved in

                                                                - Continue to check out the Internet for additional ideas.                                          

                                - Brainstorm ideas on service projects – Monthly projects

                                                - What are some projects that you are interested in?

                                                                - See attached pages for ideas that other community groups have been involved in

                - Continue to check out the Internet for additional ideas.          

                - Officer Positions

                                - The council will need to vote for two officers for next year – a secretary and vice-president

                                                                Could the secretary and vice-president inform the council of the requirements of these positions?

                                - When should elections be held for officer positions?

                - Teen Court Service Project: Held on April 22

                                - Who was able to attend?

                                - Did you enjoy attending?

                                - Any other comments?

- City Council Meeting: April 24: Jesse & Ryan

- City Council Meeting Schedule: May 8: Nathan

                                                      May 22: Savanna

- Meeting dates: Next Meeting is scheduled for May 15. This will be our last meeting before the summer.

                                Anyone have any plans or thoughts on how to hold our last meeting?

                                Should we decide a tentative summer schedule? – Example: Last Monday of the Month or 2nd Monday in the Month, etc?
