Minutes from January 9, 2006 Meeting

 

  1. The official meeting was called to order at 7:05p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.

 

  1. Excused absence – Chelsey (ill)

 

  1. Minutes from the December 19th, 2005 meetings were passed

 

  1. Old Business
    1. Betsy reported on updating the website and Fairmont TV station
    2. Powerpoint: Nathan to work on PowerPoint. Justa will proof it after completed.
    3. Justa to write Sentinel article up and coming.

 

  1. New Business
    1. Fundraising

-          Council approved selling pizzas for their yearly fundraiser

-          Selling dates – mid February/Beginning of March

-          Assembly/Delivery Date – End of March

-          Money would be used for Opera House event and also a youth council dance

    1. Events/Activities

-          Opera House Presentation

1.         Held end of March/Beginning of April

2.       Speakers: State Patrol & Fairmont Police Department (Betsy will contact)

a.       Justa will contact aunt and uncle regarding cousin’s accident

3.      Other topics tabled until a future meeting when more info is set into place

-          Dance

1.         Betsy was contacted by a K of C representative who is interested in collaborating with the youth council to host a dance.

2.       Council approved working with KC’s on a youth event

3.      Tentative dates: March 3 or March 10

4.       Preferred DJ: Dan Warner – Stage 1 Sound

    1. Justa and Savanna reported on 1-9-06 City Council meeting
    2. City Council Meeting Schedule: Monday, Jan 23rd: Chelsey & Ashlee
    3. January Service Project: Thursday, January 19@ 3:15 p.m. Meet in the north parking lot
