Minutes from February 27, 2006 Meeting

 

  1. The official meeting was called to order at 7:00p.m. in the Martin County Library (Note: Location changed due to City Council/Community Meeting in Council Chambers.

 

  1. Excused absence –Jesse (out of state)

  1. Minutes from the Jan. 30th & Feb. 13th meetings were passed

 

  1. Old Business
    1. PowerPoint: Nathan has completed the PowerPoint Presentation & will e-mail it to Betsy
    2. Justa to write Sentinel article up and coming.
    3. Pizza Fundraiser – Contact Betsy the end of this week to see how it is going. If we have not sold enough pizzas, we may not host fundraiser

    1. Dance

1.         Betsy & Ashlee to discuss treats

2.       Savanna has made the advertising posters & gave info to Betsy. Posters will be dropped off at the FHS & mailed to the MCW, GHEC, & Lincoln School  council members

3.      Jon picked up tag board to make driving direction poster

4.       Abbey stated that it should take less than 30 minutes to get set-up for the dance

a.       DJ probably to arrive around 7:00 p.m. to set-up

b.       Council members to be at Knights of Columbus hall at 6:45 p.m.

    1. Kick Butts Day

-          Council would like to carry out the “1200” project (“Sock it to Cigarette’s & Big Tobacco)

-          Bulletin boards have been completed. Everything is ready to be hung up when the council members get the appropriate go ahead from the school.

    1. General Info

-          Each council member to bring 1 idea of a project the youth council could work on. Continue to Brainstorm

  1. Other Business
    1. City Council Meeting Schedule: Monday, Mar. 13th: No one able to attend as that is the day for Solo & Ensemble.

Monday, Mar. 27th: Amber & Ricky

 

  1. Next Meeting Dates:  Friday, March 10: Meeting to be held prior to dance

Council members to bring St. Patrick’s Day decorations
