Minutes from the FAYC Meeting

Monday, March 1, 2004

 

  1. The meeting is called to order at 7:01 p.m. central time in the City Hall Council Chambers.
  2. Present members:  All were present, plus one additional individual.
  3. A motion was made and the minutes from the February 23 meeting were passed.
  4. New Member:  Kimbra Schreurs was voted into the FAYC.
  5. Healthy Youth Committee:  Jon said that he would try to make one of the meetings.
  6. T-shirts:  Jon was going to contact Deb Iverson, going with a black, long-sleeved T-shirt, with the blob logo.
  7. Chaperons that have committed so far:  Mr. Hernes & Mrs. Munson. (Betsy’s parents can chaperone if needed) Each council member is to bring 3 names of individuals they would like to have as chaperones at the dance. The council will continue to discuss this topic at the next meeting.
  8. DJ:  Going with Stage One Sound and the council decided to let them read the crowd for things to do. However, the council stated 2-4 group participation activities is the maximum they would like to see.
  9. Drinks:  Pop – 360 bottles

                    Water – 240 bottles

      Betsy will give this information to Hy-Vee.

  1.   Popcorn:  Betsy was going to ask the Bank about how much we would need.
  2.   Movies:  Every Council member was going to write down three movies. The council will discuss this topic at our next meeting.
  3.   Advertisement:  500 Dum-Dum’s – stay after next meeting and affix “flag” with dance information.

                                       KFMC Jon is going to contact them.

                                       Z99 Betsy is going to contact them.

  1.   Jon is going to contact the Hardware stores to see if they would donate/give us a deal on a tarp.
  2.   Door Prizes and Thank You: The council agreed that they had enough door prizes for this coming dance. The council approved the thank you note, which will be sent to all of the donators after holding the dance.
  3. The council voted on holding meetings every Monday until the date of the dance. However, the council will not meet on March 15 due to a school related function.
  4.   Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
