Fairmont Area Youth Council

Minutes from May 16, 2006 Meeting

 

  1. The informal meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Park Shelter House
  2. Absent –Ashlee, Ryan, Amber (sick), Chelsey,
  3. Minutes from the May 1st meeting were passed
  4. Old Business
    1. May/Appreciation Baskets for 3 local Police Departments

-          Council updated all the members present on assembling and delivering the May baskets. Members present enjoyed this event

  1. New Business
    1. Planning and Budgeting for next term

-          Non-graduating council members tabled to discuss this until after the meeting

-          Council worked on the budget from now until Feb. 2007. Betsy will retype the information and the council will review it at their next meeting

    1. Summer Event

-          Aquatic Park Teen Night – we will discuss this more at the next meeting on how the council can become involved.

    1. Officer Positions

-          Council will need a secretary and vice-president for next term

-          Betsy will send an e-mail to all council members asking them to submit their nominations to her by the next meeting. If you would like to be an officer and/or are submitting your own name, etc. please be prepared to inform the council why you would like to be an officer.

-          Discuss summer City Council schedule

    1. Next Meeting Date: June 12, 2006 @ 5:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Aquatic Park
