Minutes from August 28, 2006 Meeting

 

  1. The meeting was called to order at 7:18 p.m. at the Fairmont City Hall Council Chambers

 

  1. Present  - Jesse & Abbey

 

  1. Excused Absence – Ashlee & Savanna

 

  1. Unexcused Absence – Nathan, Amber, & Chelsey   
    1. No quorum was formed, however business needed to be conducted and guests interested in attending the council were present

 

  1. Abbey motioned to skip the minutes until the next meeting

 

  1. Jesse & Abbey revised the updated 2006-2007 budget, by-laws, and council roster.

 

  1. September Service Project
    1. Sept 12 – meet at Martin Co Humane Society at 7:00 (7-8 pm volunteer)
    2. Official meeting, with pizza and pop, will follow at the City Hall Council Chambers

 

  1. New Members Meeting – Sept 18 @ 7:00 p.m.
    1. Council members present reviewed information
    2. Betsy will contact Amber regarding making posters advertising this event. Poster deadline: Must be turned in to Betsy, via e-mail, Sept 5
    3. Abbey will put together a generic announcement for all schools to read over the loud speaker Deadline: Must be turned in to Betsy, via e-mail, Sept 5
    4. Presentation: Abbey and Jesse will revise the current presentation. Abbey and Jesse will be speaking to the government classes offered at FHS the week before the open house and will present the PowerPoint Presentation. Power Point may be presented at the New Members Meeting as well. Deadline: Sept 7 – e-mailed to Betsy
    5. Everything will be distributed and tied together at the Sept 12 meeting

 

  1. City Council Meeting Schedule
    1. Abbey to attend 9-11-06 meeting and present budget
    2. Council will schedule members to attend City Council meetings at 9-12-06 FAYC meeting

-          9-12-06 @ 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Martin County Humane Society

    1. Fall Kick-Off/New Members Meeting

-          9-18-06 @ 7:00 p.m.

-          September 12 8-8:45 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers

1.      We will have pizza and pop

2.      Items for the Fall Kick-Off will be distributed at this meeting
