Fairmont Area Youth Council

Minutes from December 15, 2004 Meeting

 

  1. The meeting was called to order at 3:46 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.

 

  1. Dave Smith gave a presentation on the Fruitcake Follies (Feb. 19) and info on how FAYC can become involved. He also gave information on how the council could write “Free” articles for the Sentinel Weekend edition.

 

  1. All members were present

 

  1. Minutes from November 1st meeting were passed

 

  1. Service Projects

- The council will continue to discuss this at the next meeting.

 

  1. Memberships

- Council voted on two new members. Betsy will contact them and they are to be at the next meeting.

 

  1. Youth Activity

- Council vote on hosting a dance on March 18.

- Council voted to continue this at their next meeting

 

  1. Funding

- The council voted to have each council member sell at least 30 pizzas.

- Council approved selling pizzas the week of January 10 and 17. Info will be given to Betsy by January 26th.

- Council voted on sending another letter to businesses, this time with a return envelope. Council will stuff these at the next meeting.

 

  1. Other Business

- Council approved Jan. meeting dates and voted on meetings being scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 7:00 p.m.

- Council members will bring surveys to next meeting – tallied

- Council tabled bullying to the next meeting

- Council will work on parliamentary procedures in hopes to get the council on TV up and coming.

 

  1. Next Meeting –January 3 @ 7:00 p.m. – same place.
