Fairmont Area Youth Council

Minutes from February 7, 2005 Meeting

 

  1. The meeting was called to order at 4:44 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers

 

  1. Kimbra, Jon, Justa, Kendra, & Ashlee– present

Kelsey & Tom – absent

 

  1. Minutes from January 31st meeting were passed

 

  1. Service Projects

- March Service Project – Humane Society

            March 5th from 12-2 p.m.

- February Fruitcake Follies

 

  1. Membership/Community Awareness

- Kimbra, Justa & Ashlee will try to focus on this topic

- Jon & Kimbra will speak to Teen Court- Feb 22

- Kendra & Kelsey will speak to FMC Club Med- Feb 14

- Sentinel Article – Each council member write an article and bring to Feb 21 meeting

 

  1. Youth Activity – Friday, March 18 8:00 p.m. – Midnight @ Knights of Columbus - Admission$3

- Food – Justa will check into

- DJ – Kendra will call DJs and one will be booked B4 next meeting

- Chaperones – Each council member is to bring 5 names of chaperones

- Advertising – schools, newspaper (article/advertisement) pizza flyers, radio, etc. This will be divided up among council members at the next meeting

 

  1. Other Business

- Kick Butts Day –We will start working on this project at the next meeting. Betsy will be starting the Fairmont Medical Center funding request.

- For the Fairmont Area Youth Foundation Grant – each council member search for conferences/ideas on the Net. WE are looking to do something for our group.

 

  1. Next Meeting –Feb 21 @ 7:00 p.m. – same place.
