Minutes from March 7, 2005 Meeting

 

  1. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers

  1. Minutes from February 21st meeting were passed

 

  1. Old Business

- Teen Court

-Jon presented to Teen Court on Feb 22. 6 jurors were present. He handed out applications.

            Advertising for Dance

                        - Betsy will take care of the Sentinel, Photo Press, Radio Stations, Internet, & TV Stations

                        - Each council member will post flyers at school and around the community

- Each council member will contact a pizza place, see if they will place the flyers on the boxes. (The council member might also be asked to put flyers on the boxes.)

                        - Ashlee – Godfathers Pizza              Justa – Jakes             Kelsey – Pizza Hut

                        - Kendra – Casey’s Pizza                    Jon – Green Mill

            FMC Grant – Was turned in and we are waiting to hear from them for KBD

 

  1. New Business

- Service Projects

- April – KBD               May – Humane Society

- Summer – Ashlee is checking about the date of an event in Trimont the FAYC could help out with

            - Interlaken Heritage Days

- The council approved making carnival games, providing prizes, and manning them on June 11. We will also begin brainstorming ideas on what to do at the next meeting.

 

            - KBD

                        - We are staring the planning process.

 

  1. Membership/Community Awareness

- Sentinel Article – Kendra is going to work on & turn it in this week

- Home Town Focus – Jon will contact them – from prior meeting

- Membership – Council voted to approve a probationary period for new applicants versus voting them on/off the council as soon as the application was received.

 

  1. Youth Activity – Friday, March 18 8:00 p.m. – Midnight @ Opera House – Admission $3

- Chaperones – WE NEED CHAPERONES!!!!!! So far all we have is Officer Bleese and Justa’s Parents!!!!!

Chaperones will need to arrive at 7:45 p.m. at the Opera House. Tell them to use the door on the North side!!!

- Food

            - Kendra is checking into the pizzas

            - Ashlee and Betsy will be going shopping for food on March 14 after the City Council meeting.

 

  1. Other Business

- Jon updated the FAYC on the last City Council happenings.  

- Reminder – Ashlee is to attend the City Council meeting on Mar. 14 @ 5:30 p.m.

- Council approved the FAYF grant, which is due on March 15.

- Each council member is to bring a list of 3 movies that they own to the next meeting. Council will vote on movies to be shown at the dance.

- Council approved Justa as the new FAYC secretary

 

  1. Next Meeting – Tuesday, March 15 @ 7:00 p.m. – same place.

 March 28 @ 7:30 p.m.

The council may meet at other times to gear up for KBD
