Fairmont Area Youth Council

Minutes from April 4, 2005 Meeting

 

  1. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers

 

  1. Present – Ashlee, Nathan, Kelsey, Kendra, Justa, & Jon

Also Present – Ethan Teveldal & Joe Fisch

 

  1. Minutes from March 28th meeting were passed

 

  1. New Business

- Service Projects

                        - Sentinel Article – Justa had the article completed and turned it in for review to Betsy.

- Stickers – Council voted on purchasing 1,000 stickers to be handed out on KBD at the schools. Betsy will order them.

- Snickers – Kesley stated that the lunch ladies approved the snickers. Kelsey will report to Betsy before the next meeting the amount needing to be purchased. Kelsey will pick the stats and Betsy will make the labels.

- Bulletin board – Nathan stated GHEC approved the bulletin board and he is working on it. Ashlee stated she will talk to the principle. Betsy will distribute the information that she and Nathan compiled for that date to Nathan and Ashlee by mid-week.

 

  1. Membership/Community Awareness

- Home Town Focus – Ashlee is to make contact with Jeff Hagen before the next meeting. She is to state that the council would like to speak about Kick Butts Day, the council and recruiting remembers and our dance.

Make contact with Betsy this week about Home Town Focus.

- Membership – REMEMBER WE MADE A GOAL TO HAVE 5 ADDITIONAL MEMBERS BEFORE THIS SUMMER!!!

 

  1. Youth Activity –

- Chaperones – bring a list of chaperones to the next meeting

- Signs – Jon is to make a sign for the north door and also a tarp sign for the west doors @ the Opera House before the next meeting.

 

  1. Other Business

- Pizza Fundraiser – Council will receive information to start selling on April 18, turn the info into Betsy by May 11 and will make the pizzas on Saturday, May 21.

 

  1. Next Meeting – April 11, 2005 @ 7:30 p.m. Council will be having pizza & pop!!!!
