Fairmont Area Youth Council

Minutes from September 6, 2004 Meeting

1.       The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.

 

2.     Absence Members: Kimbra & Tyler

 

3.     Summer Activity – The council members reviewed and approved the revenue/expenses sheet and information sheet regarding the dance. Overall, the council thought the dance was a success and the youth that attended had a great time.

 

4.     Service Projects – The council would like to do some service projects, however everyone is on a tight schedule. We are looking into helping out with the Tour of Tables, making party favors for trays for Lakeview and possibly picking up some road ditches

 

5.     City Council/Boards/Commissions – Each council member finished/approved the group that they wish to participate in. We hope to get this lined up for next month.

 

6.    Other Business – The council would like to open up membership to all schools in Martin County and to youth in grades 7th – 12, versus our 8th – 12th membership.  If this transpires and with approval, the council would like to visit with schools/students on Sept. 22.

 

7.      Next Meeting – The next meeting will be on Sept 20 @ 7:00 p.m. unless we get approval to change the membership and also approval from the schools we would like to visit

 

8.    The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
