Martin County Courthouse
Open to the public. Construction started in April, 1906, with the dedication held on December 16, 1907. The first story is built of Marquette rain-drop sandstone from Michigan. Second and third stories are built of Buff-Bedford limestone from Indiana. The building is classical in architecture. It is fireproof throughout. The dome extends 58 feet above the roof, making it 108 feet from the ground. The courthouse is located on the site of Old Fort Fairmount, built in 1862 at the time of the Dakota (Sioux) Uprising. Listed in the National Registry of Historic Sites. (507) 238-3126

Martin County Historical Society & Pioneer Museum
Located at 304 E Blue Earth Ave. Eight areas display a large collection of Indian relics, a pioneer home, a country school and other memorabilia of this area. Open all year Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 12:00pm & 1:00pm - 4:30pm, Friday & Saturday by appointment or for special tours.

George Wohlhuter Mansion
Private. 320 Woodland Ave. The mansion was built in 1899 for $35,000 and is Victorian style with four Corinthian columns and carved oak. Rose mahogany paneling and woodwork, Italian marble, and colored and cut glass windows are found throught the mansion. There are six fireplaces and a third floor ballroom.

Fairmont Opera House
Built in 1901, located on Downtown Plaza, the Opera House has been completely restored. Listed in the National Registry of Historic Sites. (507) 238-4900

Livingston Log Cabin
Lincoln Park, 1300 North North Ave. Built by William Robert Livingston who came, with his wife, to Martin County in 1866. They settle in Silver Lake Township and named their homestead "Tall Oak". In 1953 the cabin was moved to Lincoln Park.

Heritage Acres
Agriculture Interpretive Center, located at 827 Lake Avenue, along the west shore of Lake Sisseton. A walk through, participatory experience of the heritage of the Midwest.

Chubb House
209 Lake Ave. In 1866 Dr. Orville Chubb came to Maring County and built this, the oldest house in Fairmont. He is credited windex.htmg the village of Fairmont.
