About The Red Rock Center

The First Church of Christ Scientist (now the Red Rock Center) was designed by prominent Minnesota architect Harry W. Jones. It is an excellent example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style. It is constructed of Sioux Quartzite (red rock), quarried in southwestern Minnesota.

Red Rock Center is owned by Martin County who has entered into an agreement with the MPCA for the lease and management of the Center throughout the life of the building. Martin County Genealogical Society intends to lease a portion of the lower level.

MCPA has already received strong support from the community and the Minnesota State Historical Society for the development of the Resue Study, building stabilization and securing the roof. The Red Rock Center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Please help us continue our community's long standing tradition for historic preservation.
